Influenza, commonly known as the flu, is a viral infection that can range from mild to severe, and in some cases, it can be life-threatening. The symptoms of flu can come on very suddenly and may include:

• Sudden high temperature

• Aching body

• Feeling tired or exhausted

• Dry cough

• Sore throat

• Headache

• Difficulty sleeping

• Loss of appetite

• Diarrhoea or tummy pain

• Feeling sick and being sick

Children may also experience ear pain and appear less active when they have the flu.
