Iron Infusion Drip

Iron Infusion Drip

Iron deficiency can cause symptoms like fatigue, shortness of breath, dizziness, pale skin, and difficulty concentrating, all of which can significantly impact your daily life.

An iron drip is a quick and effective way to restore your iron levels, with the treatment itself taking only 15 minutes and providing fast relief from symptoms.

If you already have your ferritin levels provided by your GP, you are eligible for a FREE consultation to discuss treatment options.

Please allow an additional 30 minutes for observation after the infusion is completed. Note that a specific process is in place to ensure your safety and eligibility for the iron infusion.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • This can be due to a number of vitamin deficiencies such as Vitamin K as people with low levels of Vitamin K may notice easy bruising. This also may be linked to low iron levels as an iron deficiency affects the production and function of the haemoglobin which is essential for transporting oxygen in your blood and maintaining healthy tissue.

  • Anaemia (also known as an iron deficiency) can cause symptoms in the mouth such as a sore tongue, ulcers and or sores.

  • Anaemia may result in not being able to make enough red blood cells as well as a reduction in platelet production. Platelets are the first step in blood clotting, so a reduction in platelet leads to increased bruising.

  • Signs of an iron deficiency include swollen, inflamed, pale or strangely smooth tongue.

  • Paleness or lack of colour in the skin, irritability, lack of energy or tiring easily, increased heart rate, sore or swollen tongue, enlarged spleen, a desire to eat peculiar substances such as dirt or ice.

  • If you pull your lower eyelid down while looking in a mirror, the inside layer should be a vibrant red colour. If it is a very pale pink or yellow, you may have an iron deficiency.

  • Anaemia (also known as an iron deficiency) can cause symptoms in the mouth such as a sore tongue, ulcers and or sores.

  • Most commonly, low iron makes you tired, cold and short of breath.

  • Iron deficiency can cause you to feel dizzy or lightheaded.

  • Usually, the first sign of an iron deficiency is brittle nails that chip and crack easily.

  • People with an iron deficiency may experience itchy skin (pruritus) that can become red, bumpy and sore when scratched.

  • Instead of a typical, healthy pink, the gums take on a faded or whiter shade of their standard colour.

Anaemia Profile

Anaemia is a shortage of red blood cells and/or haemoglobin. It is a common cause of tiredness and can also lead to lack of energy, feeling faint, becoming easily breathless. This test will give information on several common causes of anaemia. It includes tests for iron levels including ferritin, a full blood count, vitamin B12 and folate (vitamin B9) levels.

What gets tested?

  • Ferritin

    Iron

    Total Iron Binding Concentration

    Transferrin Saturation

    Unsaturated Iron Binding Concentration

  • Vitamin B12

Vitamin B12 is a vitamin which is necessary for the formation of red blood cells, tissue and cellular repairs, and nerve health.

It is primarily found in animal products such as meat, fish, milk and eggs, so it is particularly relevant to anyone on a plant based diet.

This test measures the total amount of vitamin B12 in the blood. It may contribute to the diagnosis of vitamin B12 deficiency, pernicious anemia, malabsorption disorders, and certain gastrointestinal conditions.

In males and females, low levels of vitamin B12 can lead to anaemia, fatigue, weakness, and neurological symptoms.

    Folate (Vitamin B9)

  • Full Blood Count (with 5 part White Cell Differential)

Full Blood Count (FBC) provides information about the different cells in the blood, these include the red blood cells, white blood cells and platelets. Red blood cells contain haemoglobin which carries oxygen to the different tissues in the body whereas white blood cells control the immune system and protects the body from foreign invaders such as bacteria and viruses. FBC testing are used as a screening test for various disorders like anaemia and infections.
